چکیده
The low yield potential of most biofortified maize is a barrier to its full adoption and reduces curb various macro- micronutrient deficiencies highly prevalent in low-income regions the world, such as sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). By crossing inbred lines with different nutritional attributes zinc (Zn), provitamin A protein quality, breeders are attempting develop agronomically superior stable multi-nutrient genetic backgrounds. key question, however, relationship between per se hybrid performance under stress non-stress conditions. The popularity of reduced-tillage cropping systems has emphasized the need to determine if maize (Zea mays L.) developed under conventional tillage systems (moldboard plow, disk, and harrow) is readily adaptable to conservation production syst...
متن کاملMaize (Zea Mays L.) Growth and Yield Response to Ethephon Application under Water Stress Conditions
The aim of the present investigation was to study the growth, yield and yield components of maize (Zea mays L.) single cross 704 under different levels of irrigation, plant density, and ethephon in southern Iran where this particular crop has not yet been studied in detail. A field experiment was performed in the 2004 5 growing season at the experimental farm of the College of Agriculture, Shir...

Abstract Effects of water stress on root and leaf growth rates and their relationships with yield under normal and water stress conditions were examined at the Greenhouse and Research Field of Faculty of Agriculture, Kerman University, Iran, using seven maize cultivars including SC-404, SC-704, BC-666, TC-647, DC-370, Jeta and Kordona. During a period of 14 days, water stress at -0.4 MPa was ...
متن کاملPredicting Performance Under Stressful Conditions Using Galvanic Skin Response
The rapid growth of the availability of wearable biosensors has created the opportunity for using biological signals to measure worker performance. An important question is how to use such signals to not just measure, but actually predict worker performance on a task under stressful and potentially high risk conditions. Here we show that the biological signal known as galvanic skin response (GS...

ABSTRACT Water management is an essential concept for water intensive crop such as maize dealing with water shortage under drought conditions. Maize production is ranked after wheat and barely in Fars province, Iran. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the effects of planting methods by conventional and modified planters on maize growth and yield at different irrigation re...
